Rear Disc Conversion Question: Which Calipers?
Actually: WHICH ROTORS
Need some advice. I'm swapping in disc brakes to an HO52 (full float/8 lug) axle. Have a bracket and calipers. Kit says I can use 70s era front rotors. the rotors I have however come as a rotor/hub assembly. can the rotor be separated from the front hub? I need to mount the front rotor on the rear hub. any advice or experiences are welcome. David

Re: Rear Disc Conversion Question: Which Calipers?
Order a rear disc conversion kit for a GM 14 bolt rear. Will work perfect. That is what I used. The rotors are front 4wd rotors from a mid 70s GM with a Dana 44hd They are seperate from the hub assy. Good luck.

Re: Rear Disc Conversion Question: Which Calipers?
I told you which rotors. All the kits for the 14 bolt or ho52, ho72 use front
4wd rotors from a mid 70s Chevy truck with the Dana 44hd 8 lug front axle. The rotors you have (if they are mid 70s front 4wd rotors) will seperate from the hub and slide on the studs on your rear axle. You have to knock the lug studs out of the rotor to seperate it from the hub.
