I just found the VIN decoder on the board home page, I guess BB/SB info is not in the VIN. Is there another way to determine what motor the truck had when it left the factory?

The vins don't tell exactly what engine. The second digit (E) says it is an eight cylinder. That could mean 307, 350, or 396.

If the glove box is still there and the sticker is in it, it will say if it had an optional engine. If no engine is listed, it was a 307.

If you think it original engine family sticker may still be on inner fender .Just a clue to help make determination. 2wd v8 3/4 fleet.Might also be build sheet in springs of seat or behind tank.

Was there a sticker in 69? I've only seen them on 71 and up.
