On a related note, is there a rubber gasket that goes between the mounting bracket and the door skin? Are those available somewhere (I didn't see them in the Classic Parts catalog)?

I have the doors that I took them off of and I will go look. They must be on the doors I would assume since they came off of there. I can't remember how they come off there is the hole in the front of the mirror and I assume something on the door.
I would say yes I have the brackets.

they are the brackets that Chevy put on the door that the mirrors mounted to. I didn't want to break the mirrors before I pulled the doors off the truck so I removed the mirrors.
