need more Lift and got hub problems
Hello everybody its been awhile i've posted. I got a 84 short wide with a 6" lift and 35" tires but i want a lil more. Whats ya'lls opinion on adding a 3" body lift? Is their anything else I got to do to pull this off? The truck is a half ton. Also when i would lock up the front hubs they would make an awful snd, like a grinding sound like something was broken. So I replaced them but still do the same. What do u think is wrong? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Re: need more Lift and got hub problems
A body lift is the cheapest way to get a few more inches of lift. The only complaint is the bumper gaps. As for the hubs, its not the hubs. Have you pulled the cover off the diff to inspect that? If not I would do that before throwing any more money at it. Also what did the old hubs look like when you pulled them off.

Re: need more Lift and got hub problems
The "hub" problem is more likely a spider gear issue or an axle joint issue. Closer inspection is required.

Re: need more Lift and got hub problems
With a body lift, if the truck is an automatic, you'll have to lengthen the **** rod from teh column to the trans. If the truck is a stick shift, you'll have to lengthen the clultch rod from the petal to the zbar. Also you'll have to lower the radiator or cut the bottom out of the fan shroud. Sometimes the steering shaft from the column to the steering box will need a little work too...

Re: need more Lift and got hub problems
Also probably need to extend your fuel filler hose and keep an eye other rubber lines as you raise the body if you go with the body lift. They are cheap but fairly involved to install.
What is your intended use of this vehicle?
