4x4 to 2wd convert and need help
i am new to this site and i have just bought a lifted 72 blazer that i am going to make a 2wd . i have a 72 c10 long box with leaf spring rear . i have tore every thing out of the c10 front and rear and i thought i would start with the rear couse it would be easy , right ???? not !!! i have been messing with it for a day and a half and all i got is a blazer with no rear suspention . the spring perches on the blazer drop off the frame ferther than a 2wd so i thought thats easy i will grind 40 or so rivets and swap leaf spring perches and it would all fit . if i set the perches on the leaf springs and slide the bolts in with the springs still bolted to the rear end the back perches are fine , but the front have about a 1 1/2 to 2 inch gap between the frame and perch on bolth sides . that is becouse the 2wd frame bows out for the coil springs even if it is a leaf spring truck ... my questoin is is anyone making perches to fix this or ??? i know i can go with a 4 link or ladder bars but i didnt whant to go that way since i am a poor redneck and cant afford it . or can i put a coil sping crossmember and go that way ? keep in mind i am doing thin in my driveway with dewalt electric tools . so please help before i go nuts . thank for your help , riverdog

Re: 4x4 to 2wd convert and need help
Why are you putting c10 leaf springs on rather than just putting the axle on top of the stock 4wd leaf springs? You could also swap in trailing arms from a 2wd truck and it would probably be just as easy as the c10 leafs.
