Ashtray Removal?
Since I am painting the brake drums and various other things on my truck(69 GMC), I was going to take the ashtray out and clean the inside and paint it. I stopped at work today(where the truck is stored), but couldn't find an easy way to take it out. Is there a trick to removing it? Does just the slide-out tray part come out or do I have to take the whole assembly out? Any info would be appreciated!

it should slide right out basically that piece on the top that covers part of the ashtray needs to be pressed down and it will release.

Thanks cableguy, I got it out just like you said.
Probably a silly question, but I am a cautious person and had to ask. Better safe than sorry I guess.
