Newly Lifted rig, What Shocks?

I lifted my truck somewhere a bit north of 6"
REAR: DIY 4" shackle flip, Reverse the mounts, 56" springs with 4" lift, removed the helper spring...
FRONT: DIY FGB52's mounts, Moved stock 52" rear springs to the front, slipped the helper spring from the rear in to level it up.... waiting until rears sag a bit, then I'll slip the helper spring back out.

I also did 1 ton axles.

Long story short nothing I can purchase directly out of a catelog with any confidence.

I measured the Front and Rear shock mount lengths and got:

Front 20.5" c to c
Rear 26.5" c to c

Any ideas on what shocks/part numbers fit?

Oh and here is a poser shot, no front brake lines, no front shaft, and no fender trimming yet... Just got her rolled out of the barn had 3/4" of clearence to spare! I'm 6' 4" tall...

NICE!!! I see disc brakes on the rear. Can`t you give the lengths and lift info to get the right shocks?I bet Superlift could help you out. They are owned by Heckothorn who have made off road shocks forever. And,Superlift builds all kinds of custom lift kits.

Yep got the disc brake brakets from someone on Pirate for 45 bucks shipped to my door! I think the whole conversion was under $175 (took the orig front calipers and moved them to the rear!)

Re: Newly Lifted rig, What Shocks?

Your K5 looks really good with great upgrades. Am I correct in assuming with it built the way you have, you will be taking it offroad? If that is correct, I'd recommend you spend some time measuring with the suspension fully compressed and flexed so you get a more accurate idea of what you need from your shocks. Hate to have the shocks limit your flex and end up damaging your shocks.

With that being said, for my truck that doesn't get beat on, what I did was took my center to center measurement like you have, than I went to Rancho's site and they have a .pdf file that lists their shocks and respective specs.

If you were looking at their RS5000 series, the RS5112 has the correct ends and compressed it measures 16" and extended it measures 26.250" with total travel of 10.250. That shock would probably be good for the front axle.

For the rear axle, the RS5134 has the correct ends and compressed it measures 19" and extended it measures 32.625" with total travel of 13.625.

Interesting.

So using those numbers:
FRONT: 4.5" of compress and 5.5" of extend travel
REAR: 7.5 of compress and 5.5 of extend travel

I do have shorter springs in the front so I get the limited travel there but the rear seems unbalanced.

Has anyone measured compress/extend travel with a 52/56 spring swap? I do plan to wheel the rig so I expect to flex it. I have her limping at this point so I really can't get her crossed up yet... I did just get my front brake lines in from inline tube... sweet!

I also forgot to mention I'm installing crossover with high steer.... I have another post on that topic but if anyone knows where I can get a 2wd sector shaft to replace my 4wd shaft please let me know... I have 2 brand new 4wd steering boxes and don't want to buy a 2wd drive box if I don't have too.
