just bought 65 gmc, couple ques

headlights work, but only when i pull the knob out all the way. all 4 come on, but not jus the low beams, only both.
also can someone tell me the wire setup on front turn signals?

Did you try the dimmer switch?

Are the low beams good? Try checking them out by a direct conection . check the wire harness at the fire wall, and at the radiator support
Make sure your grounds are good and clean.

the grounds have to be good if they come on when i pul the knob all the way out. right? there are four lights, 2 for low beam and two for hih beam, bubt from what ive gathered, all fou should come on in high beam. right? so that shuld say the lights are good, but the switch? also dimmer switch? i noticed the knob turns to make the dash lights brighter or not, is that what you mean? also tiny switch before the 3 knobs? any ideas?

i could be wrong the grounds might not be wired right? does ne one have a wiring diagram?

The dimmer switch on the floor. Stomp on that and see if the two middle turn off.

Joe, where did you get that wiring diagram? I have both the shop and assembly manuals but they are in black and white and not color.

Im not an expert on the trucks with 4 eyes, but I thought only two headlites at a time were supposed to work????? Anyway, to the site and good luck.....lets see some pics. I get to be first on this one......................

On quad headlight trucks, in low beam mode only the outer two are on, and all four in high beam mode. The outer two headlights have a low and a high beam circuit in them and the inner two are high beam only.

well that def worked. good im glad it did. i knew i wired it right. story is guy was selling it on craigslist. he was gonna give it to his son when he turned 16. hes 14 now and started working on it a bit. well now his dad just decided to give him his truck instead. his dad wasnt supervising him when the kid was working on the truck and the kid cut the headlights off, he didnt they could be pulled off. so when i bought it i had to wire them back on. i just didnt know about the floor switch. thanx for that. i got everything else working, sounds like i might have a rod knock though. hopefully i can just tighten the rocker up a bit and itll be ok. ill get pics up too sooner or later, its rainy right now. plus im a photo freak and i like to take good pics. its not quite in pic takin quality yet, i just put a new bed ( plywood ) in her the other day, and sprayed some rubber coating on the walls of the bed.

another ques, so i had the headlights working for a couple das, but now, nothing. every other light works, except headlights, no low or high beam. whats wrong. the lights arent burnt out, the fuses under the steering wheel are good, and i tried replacing the light switch, is there someting else im missing? someother relay or fuse located somewhere else?

nvm it works now. believe it or not all i did was unpluged the dimmer switch and plugged it back in. it worked. looked a lil corroded. ill clean it up.

Bad connections are not uncommon on these trucks....they are getting a little old at this point. My core support connector was loose and it took me a while to find it; caused my lites not to work, too.
