Any Members work in the GM Truck Factories from 67-72?
Just curious if there are any members that worked in the GM Truck factories in 67-72. Who knows you may talk to the same guy that built your beauty. My neighbor that lives 2 houses down from me worked at the Pontiac Truck plant from 1968-1970 making protecto plates. I decoded my vin a while ago and my 72 GMC was built in Baltimore, Maryland.

My dad started in the Atlanta Lakewood plant in April 1969 I think the last trucks they ran rolled of the line in 1974 might of been 76 I can't remeber.

My father worked for Springfield Machine and Stamping in Warren, Michigan from 1973-1979 in which he made the side trim for the C10, Cheyenne, Blazer and Suburban. They also made the 67-72 trim before he worked there.

^Did your dad quit when they started making crappy stick-on trim?
It`s funny cuz`79 was the last year for good looking "made to fit the body" mouldings were used.Since then the 2-tone schemes have left something to be desired. I had a friend who worked at the Baltimore plant back then. It`s funny, most of my trucks have been built at Freemont,3,000 miles away.I think I`ve had one from Baltimore,30 miles away.

I am about 120 miles from Atlanta and my BB truck is from Atlanta plant, but the 4x4 was built in Baltimore. I have seen several atlanta trucks around here.

Re: Any Members work in the GM Truck Factories from 67-72?
Last year I talked in length to a guy that worked in the Chevy truck plant in St. Louis till he retired in the late 70's. Claimed he spent most of his time assy doors, n window assy's. Claimed the STL truck plant was the one that requested the extra drilled hole in the 72 door interior for ease in assy line time.
