New look for 72 door panels...
A while back i had a post about what to do with my door panels cause personally I can't stand the old school scroll thing on the top of the door panels. I couldnt find any inserts and I wanted a really clean look so I used some high quality bondo and smoothed them out and painted. They turned out pretty good and are holding up too so I thought I'd share how they turned out. Peace.

Looks kind of empty now. I like the scroll thing, wish I had it on my truck. But I can definitely see how someone could dislike it.

Re: New look for 72 door panels...
I thought about having the smooth part pinstriped to match my interior but it would just be some small accents...

Aaron, what kind of paint did you use after the bondo? I want to repaint mine and yours turned out awesome. I really like the smooth look.

SEM elastomeric coating...it's amazing for plastics and vinyl. I had the color made to match my carpet and stuff but you can buy tons of colors in spray cans.

Re: New look for 72 door panels...
I'm with pmpski on the smooth thing. It's like something's missing with the whole rest of the door panel textured. I appreciate the effort you put into it though. It would be a good place for some aluminum or stainless trim.

That's kinda what I was thinking, pinstriping or an updated scroll thing painted on there would be cool. That would bring it together and give it a real custom look. In the end I think that would look better than the scroll!
