Re: if its not one thing its the other
Could be a fuel line leaking or a ruptured tank. You better pray it's a fuel line.

Re: if its not one thing its the other
im about 99% shure its a fuel line and if it was the tank ide just switch tanks lol it was leaking directly under the engine..or near under the engine

Re: if its not one thing its the other
I see the Beretta took the truck out with it in a blaze of glory. Beretta FTW. Poke will you PLEASE buy a fire extinguisher like right away, because you seem to have a bunch of fuel problems with that truck and I would hate for you to be afoot, much less have burn injurys. Make sure you get the one that puts out fuel/oil fires. |

You have money for a fire extinguisher, even a homeless crackhead could find a way to buy one. Yeah, prolly only if he thought he could get high on the contents, but the point still stands. Last edited by heavychevy79; 06-10-2009 at 12:53 AM. |

Re: if its not one thing its the other
welp i figured it out...the thing where the edlebrock sticker is....where the fuel line connect on the carb...the threads dont match so it just slides in and out and all the previous owner did is cover it in pipe threading

Re: if its not one thing its the other
umm.. dude..
all those times a day you message on mespace that you are "bored"... and you cant sleep... why not go through your truck for an entire day.... get alll THE zipties.. take off the overload springs.. clean up loose wire with new zipties.. (and dont say you dont have money! cause they are cheap! i personally have gone through 2 "500packs" this year.. and i think i spent more at starbucks in one visit then you would on zipties.. ya got time and creativity to add crap that .. well.. you dont need.. and to some is ugly dude... why not add stuff that will preserve your truck.. go through and FIX ALL previous.. ummmm :southern engineered" parts.. then move forward.. p.s. i still love you.. not sexually but like a brother.. and remember.. LONG WHIP ANTENNAS ARE COOL!

Re: if its not one thing its the other
To fix that carb you will need to get the body machined and have a heli coil insert installed. Might be more trouble than it's worth. Finding a used and working carb might be more cost effective.

Re: if its not one thing its the other
its not that the threads are stripped its the fact that the threads are different sizes

Re: if its not one thing its the other
Yo! pokethesmot!
I believe that was origonally a fuel filter attachment. Edelbrock can give you proper thread size and pitch for the fitting. Any of the parts stores can get the proper fitting ordered for you. You'll need the proper fitting, or a fire extinguisher, in the near future if you require the use of your truck. Otherwise, don't start it until the fuel fitting is fixed,...from a Navy trained fire fighter, and a burn-patient trained RN! Todd.

Re: if its not one thing its the other
dude swapmeet..
go to local parts store and DONT piss off the parts guy.. you can usually get hookups when you get along with them.. you arent going to learn everything and accomplish a dang thing by being on the board fulltime.. gotta go out and pull your big boy pants up.. talk to the oldies near you.. and respect what they tell you.. ive been doing this noticibly longer then you.. and 90 percent of the board guys have been doing it longer then me.. and i DO NOT argue with them unless i absolutely know im right.. even then.. older people dont like that.. soo.. be nice to them.. take the verbal whoopin on every mistake made on your truck.. start mowing lawns... and save up some cash.. and get some stuff done to your truck.. besides the walmart-import style upgrades.. your baby needs love not accesories.. p.s. i stil care for you man.. but ya gotta do something progressive here... im stuck in the house today with 7 kids im watching (damn neighbors) and im still putting together my front shock assemblies and polishing some alluminum... so there's plenty of time and availability.. and money.. you just have to make it available.. period
