Painted my head
I just painted the head to my 250 inline six and I was wondering if I should remove the paint where the head bolt heads contact the cylinder head? Will it cause any problems if I leave it on? I was thinking of just going back and retorking the bolts after I run it a little, bit I don't want to chance it.

Re: Painted my head
Also, When looking for motor mounts, all I can find are the peice that bolts directly to the block. What about the rest like the pieces that attach to the cross member? I have the mounts that came on the 250. They are out of a 78 long bed, but thay are a little off and I would rather not drill any holes in the cross member if I don't have to.

Re: Painted my head
You may want to post this question over on the engine and drivetrain section.
My best guess, remove the paint. It could and probably will affect your torque reading as the paint "squishes." Also IIRC never retorque anything.
