Special Delivery !!
Our new truck came off the hauler yesterday fresh from Texas. Already spent the first night dealing with leaking power steering....but that seems fixed. Next is the tranny leak, rear end leak and new fluid.
402, .30 over. Built really well. Exhaust needs to be a little deaper, but that will be taken care off. Need help with interior pictures...should we put a green or black dash pad? Also, what color carpet and seat??? That all it needs on the inside. May just drive it with the body as is for the summer. Have to sell the 76 first any way. |

Re: Special Delivery !!
Looks good.I would drive it for the summer/fall but that's just hpw I roll.It looks like the paint is decent so a buuffing may make it look great.Or it just may be the light that makes it look a little dull.
Congratulations on a new member of the family.

Re: Special Delivery !!
Thanks for the comments. Found it on ebay. We were ablet to work something out directly with him so we did have to deal with the bidding. There were a couple of surprises.....little things like the speedo doesn't work, little more rust, interior worn....but he sent old pictures.
Overall it's a great solid truck, something you won't find here. Plus a chance for my father and I to build another ride....should be easy. |

Re: Special Delivery !!
Truck is Olive Green. Will probably keep it that color or something close...maybe with a candy. We'll probably leave the interior....paint is all good insided. The head liner and visors are still in great shape for their age.
We'll be getting rid of the wood grain on the door panels and the dash. Door panels will just need a repaint to the original green. Dash bezel will be changed to black/chrome. So we're trying to decide on the dash/carpet/seat colors. I'm thinking all green. Dad is thinking more towards black dash pad. Also....when we built our 76 we looked at a replacement seat. Looks like three buckets with the middle fold down. Where can we get those?? We want to at least get the inside done this summer and then maybe tackle the paint/body in the fall. |
