Re: Paul Atkins Dash for 67-72 trucks
I think I'd rather modify a '59-60 Impala dash and us it if having the pods standing proud of the rest of the dash is the goal. However, my preference is to stay with the basic shape and use aesthetically-pleasing componetry to achieve the look I want. Basically, it's your money so spend it however you like.

only one picture of it, and not even complete? for $795, he should show more shots of it, and one completed in a cusotm interior...

Re: Paul Atkins Dash for 67-72 trucks
I like it except for the dent in the top. Should just be straight across there. I couldn't afford it anyway. I've also seen guys on this board do cooler things with the dash themselves.

Re: Paul Atkins Dash for 67-72 trucks
Don't like it. It doesn't fit the styling of our trucks imo.
Its like putting a stove from 1940 in a modern home. Or like putting shag carpet over beautiful hardwood floors. Its too round. might look good in a new car with no body lines.

Re: Paul Atkins Dash for 67-72 trucks
i actually think the dash looks good, but too pricey. it is basically an updated version of the 59 impala dash. I am putting a 55 chevy car dash in my project which i think is a cool dash.

Re: Paul Atkins Dash for 67-72 trucks
Hmm, just not the right shape for these trucks. And that indent in the middle just looks like a dent. I'm all for custom dashes, but that one just doesn't work for me. Even if it was only $20.

Re: Paul Atkins Dash for 67-72 trucks
Sorry guys, but I like it and plan on getting one. I know I'm new and all. I'm more of a custom guy. Besides where on this side of the equater can you have a custom built or fabbed dash for $795? A custom dash will cost you that alone in labor. I'm just buying parts right now anyway. Once I get enough progress on my truck I will start a thread.

Re: Paul Atkins Dash for 67-72 trucks
There are two things I love the most about driving my '69 1) the dash and 2) that big ole hood you can see through the windshield I wouldn't change mine to save the world..but that's my opinion

Re: Paul Atkins Dash for 67-72 trucks
Its nice, it would be a bit different. Looking at the gauges I wonder if you sit too high in your seat if you will be able to the complete gauge. I am over six feet tall, and with my newer seats I am not sure if they would be visible.
But the do look kinda cool. |

Re: Paul Atkins Dash for 67-72 trucks
Dayum!!! That is shaa...weet!!!! That is 10 times nicer than the Paul Atkins dash. But then again it cost more than $795. Unless you can do you own work and fabbing, unlike me, I can't do nothing but fathom and dream up stuff that I want. I have to pay for & buy everything I get. Like I stated in an earlier post. I'm new and just buying parts right now. That's all. I will post pics soon after I get enough done to the truck where my thread want be a joke. A littler about my baby though......

Paul Atkins is THE MAN when it comes to custom interiors in the hi-dollar street rod circles.
