I have my '69 AZ plate, LZD 670, that was displayed on my '69 front bumper. My brother used the rear plate and let it get away. Sucks. But, my plate looks good and has a memory attached to it. It was on my '64 Bonneville when I was stationed at DMAFB.

I have a '69 lemon yellow AZ plate with '71 and '72 reflective stickers in the upper corners. Could look cool on my '71 Jimmy. I think it was on one of my Dad's cars back then. Thanks for the ADOT/MVD form.

Catch-22 is the MVD currently wants $20.12 a year to license my 4WD Jimmy [K/5] K/1500 as a "1971 Two- Door Station Wagon." The antique plate costs $5 more. Would It still require a Pima County smog certification annually?

ya, you're still required to do the yearly smog check if you live in Tucson or Phoenix. If you live outside of that, I think you're still ok.

My 74 2wd blazer was titled as a station wagon.

As far as smog. If you get classic auto insurace you do not get smogged. To have classic auto ins you need a "newer car" for a daily driver.

Just found this on the ADEQ Website:

A 2002 analysis showed that the testing and repair of collectible vehicles in the Phoenix area, and of collectible vehicles and motorcycles in the Tucson area, does not provide a significant air quality benefit. Subsequently, in 2005 the Arizona Legislature passed House Bill 2357 to authorize the exemption of these vehicles. The exemptions required the approval of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and a request for approval of the exemptions was submitted to EPA on Dec. 23, 2005.

On Dec. 12, 2006, EPA signed a proposed approval of the exemptions Leaving ADEQ Web site. The proposed approval Leaving ADEQ Web site was published in the Federal Register on Dec. 28, 2006. Final approval of the exemptions was published on March 30, 2007 Leaving ADEQ Web site. EPA's approval becomes effective on April 30, 2007.

ADEQ and the Arizona Motor Vehicle Division Leaving ADEQ Web site have begun to implement this exemption. Owners of collectible vehicles must contact their insurance carriers to arrange for the required insurance. The carrier will notify MVD electronically, allowing the vehicle to be registered as a collectible vehicle.
