Rear Frame Crossmember ???
I am getting ready to put my Suburban body on a 4x4 cchasis, When I removed the other body I noticed some custom crossmembers and what appears to be the stock crossmember had been moved to make way for a custom gas tank?
My question is if anyone can confirm that this is the stock x-member in another location and what holes it is supposed to be in for a stock location? (I believe it should reside between the rear leaf mounts?) Thnks in advance. |

Re: Rear Frame Crossmember ???
Anyone have a pic of a rear X-member setup? Are Trucks and Suburbans the same?

Re: Rear Frame Crossmember ???
I don't have a 4x4 or suburban to take pictures of for you. I can post pictures of that same crossmember on my 2wd LWB truck. It's about 12-13" from the back end of the frame.

Re: Rear Frame Crossmember ???
I am pretty sure that they are the same, I really appreciate it.
My body and Frame are stored and the city won't let me set it here...I want to locate the x-member in the right spot BEFORE I put the body on it..LOL |

Re: Rear Frame Crossmember ???
It is the factory crossmember. I might have a picture in my suburban link in my signature below.

Re: Rear Frame Crossmember ???
Here's the pictures of the one on my truck.
I can take additional pics if you need another angle.

Re: Rear Frame Crossmember ???
Thanks a million to both of you, I figured out where it is supposed to be. I am cutting it off and it should be back home in a few hours.
