Cab corner question
Are the cab corners on our trucks originally double layered? I have some rust on my cab corners but it appears to be only on the outer layer. I suppose I can just replace the outer layer??? Never knew they were like that.

Re: Cab corner question
No there should be only one layer. Although in some parts of the corner there are floor supports that the corner might be tack welded to. Where exactly is the rust at. Maybe try and get a picture.

Re: Cab corner question
There are places where the cab corner overlaps metal, like at the b pillar and up against the rear of the floor section. But other than that its probably had new corners placed over the old ones. Bad move for sure, but more common years back or by someone not in the no, or just someone hacking it for a quick resell.

Re: Cab corner question
No this is in the very bottom corner. This cab has never had any panel repair in the past. It was a Texas truck and is super solid.

Re: Cab corner question
It`s a single layer from factory. Not sure what you have going on there. But,I`d still get "all" that rust out of there. You`re repair won`t last if you don`t.In fact,it will go bad real quick.moisture will build between layers and the inner layer is aweful rusty already.I think it was repaired by laying over the outside and what you see is the result of what i`m talking about.

Re: Cab corner question
I have great blobs of sealer material gooped into the corners on the inside of mine. If you poke through the holes, it looks a lot like what you see there, the rust stuck to the goop.

Re: Cab corner question
No telling. Either way it'll all be cut out very soon. Cant wait to get this cab on the chassis so it can start to look like a truck again.
