Transfercase whinning...moved to 4WD forum
in my '92 chevy half ton, it whines when shift from 2H to 4L through nuetral. It goes into 4L fine, but it whines through nuetral. Is my transfer case going out or is it just low on fluid? I am in N with my gears when I do it.

Are you putting the transmission shifter in nuetral to do the shift?
