I have a 350 with an Edelbrock performer intake and carb, and a Automatic turbo 400 tranny. There is a vaccum hose that comes off of the back of the intake and goes to the transmission. Does anyone have this same set up. What can I do to keep the vaccum hose from poping off when I stomp on it?

Many use that setup. It's very strange that hose comes off. there should be no pressure behind it, only vacuum. Is the hose tied to the body? Maybe the engine leaning on high torque is pulling it off if the hose is too short. Is there oil on the hose? A leaking modulator can let fluid from the trans. get sucked up & soften the hose. You can put a fuel line hose clamp on it.

I find zip ties work great for holding vaccum lines on but it is weird yours is getting popped off.

I agree with the above comments. I think the issue is less about getting it to stay on and more to do with why it is coming off to begin with. I had a Chevelle with a similar set up. Even with a Valdez sized oil leak at the manifold, the hose never came off...

Make sure the line is the right diameter for the connection at the manifold. Maybe change the nipple (?!) or the hose...

Now here is a follow up question. If the vaccum line comes off the tranny, will this effect the way it shifts?

YEP! The one time it happened to me, it wouldn't get out of first gear. Besides that, you'll have a gargantuan vacuum leak so the engine is going to either stall or run like crap.

I have the same set up and dont even have it clamped and it never comes off, you can try plugging the port on the manifold and use the one on the carb to the right of the pcv port if your looking at it from front, you definitly need to plug wich ever one you arent using

Mine would come off and I found out it was because of the hard line was bent slightly giving just the slightest strain on the hose and when I gased it it would pop off.
