air compressor ID made simple
On 2000-2003 silverado, suburbans, and Tahoes GM put 4 types of AC compressors on them.
Nipondenso Delphi 876 Delphi 806 10520 GM We sell compressors and thought we would tell you how to tell what you may have when you try to go buy one. First they are either 4 groove or 6 groove pulleys. The six groove is the easiest. All you need to know is if it has Front and Rear air. If it does it will be a GM compressor. If it does not have rear air then its a little harder. If its a 6 groove w/o rear air or a 4 groove you have to look at the lines to and from the compressor. If they both attach to the compressor with a common manifold held on with one (1) bolt it will be a Delphi. If you have each individual line going to the compressor and each line is held on by a single bolt. You have a Nipondenso. AIn't this easy |
