Feeling Neglectful...
Hard to believe that my baby has been off the road for five years... I feel rotten leaving her set for so long, especially considering how little really needs done to get her back running.
The stock '74 454 had a little bearing breakdown and we but around $4000 to get her heart pumping again, but things sorta stalled out in mid transplant... ![]() My father took the engine wiring harness hostage in order to rebuild it... which one has yet to see done... ![]() Interesting item the engine builder loaned us to try out when it got up and running... 900cfm 3-barrel probably a bit excessive, but cool none the less... ![]() Still have yet to install and route the Full Cell, lines, and electric pump... was going to run Braided the whole rout, but from what I've read on here, I will probably run a good length of it in stainless line... I also what to replace the bed floor in either steel or aluminum plate and build a box for the fuel cell; I want it secure. ![]() Also got a touch of floor rot to remedy, I've bartered with a welding talented cousin to take care of that. ![]() As consolation for my year of neglect I have a bed full of nearly flawless (free!) body panels to replace her cancerous and dinged sections... so she shouldn't hold my procrastination against me too much... ... I hope... ![]() ![]() |

Re: Feeling Neglectful...
you have not been neglectful, you have been planning, and that takes time.

Re: Feeling Neglectful...
Indeed, lack of funding does tend to drag the planning phase out....

Re: Feeling Neglectful...
So whats it going to look like in another 5 years? looks like a great start, I would worry alot less about body work, and get it mobile, once you drive it you might get a little more excited about making it look good. Thats what I am doing, I figured out a while ago, DRIVING an ugly classic is alot better than not driving a pretty one! Good luck.

Wait a minute... A guy loaned you a carb to get your engine running and you've had it for five years!!! Remind me not to loan you any parts... ![]() Anyways, looks like a nice project. LockDoc
