Installed new period correct accessory

I came up with this earlier in the week, I figured since '72 was an election year and this is an original it would fit the look of my truck.

BTW, I know this is political, but for the sake of the thread getting locked, let focus on the point of the sticker, which is for a laugh.

Here's my helper, exhausted after the install-

Re: Installed new period correct accessory

Looks great. I love the period correct "accessories" on our trucks.

Im going to put these mud flaps on my 71 one of these days. I think they are from that general area. I remember them from when I was a kid.

Lets see more stuff like these period correct items on our trucks....anyone?

Chris,I think you`re safe on the politics.Agnew rhymes with`72.I`m looking at that sticker and thinking,"I wouldn`t be pasting stickers all over my brand new truck if I was that guy".Or better yet,"The election`s over.Get over it".

I was proud of my period correct elongated bar & shield Harley decal I cut in the middle and put on the slider of my`71 Custom Camper/20.I also had a Genuine Chevrolet parts decal on the wing vent.

Neither am I, I usually like one well placed sticker, and that's it. I wanted the sticker to look like it's been there since the truck was new.

I'd love to tell you I found it while scouring antique stores and garage sales, but I found it sitting on my butt on ebay.

Re: Installed new period correct accessory

I'm not a big bumper sticker fan either but 1 or 2 are alright.
I do like Chris's sticker.
I had the same idea a while back for a time sensitive decal.
The original owner worked for Eastern Airlines and I decided to leave his parking sticker on front.

I then decided to add a 1970's era Braves sticker on the back window.

Re: Installed new period correct accessory

I love the sticker. I apply stickers to magnets. I get magnet stock from craft stores. Apply sticker, cut it out and you have a sticker that can be removed when you want.
I also get cool fridge magnets from cutlery stores, like rt 66, and O.K. used cars. I put them on the glove box door.

Re: Installed new period correct accessory

My mom has always collected campaign buttons-she has most all of them going back to the '40's, but her most prized-if fact one of her most prized possesions period-is a cheap little Agnew wristwatch, done in the mickey mouse watch style. She used to wear it all the time, and since it was a very cheap watch to start with, it would always break. She would take it to a watch repair guy, and finally the guy told her that it was too valuable to keep wearing, and that he didn't want the liability of losing it or doing major damage.
