has anyone seen or made

hey guys..
wel i was wondering if anyone has ever made a "cold air" breather that connects to the front holes in the rad support..
ive seen it done here for the vortec and top end motors..
but what about a normal carbbed 350?
IF i had sheetmetal break and some hand dollies i would attempt a crude one.. and eventually heat beat and poprivet it into functionality..
BUT.. i .. well im not THAT good.. =-)
well
any input.. pictures are appreciated..

Re: has anyone seen or made

I used a stock air cleaner with plastic flexi gutter downspout from homo depot.
But it allready had the core support air intake baffle when I got it, so all I had to do was install the downspout,
or factory tube, if I had found a good one.
Yours should already have the air baffle in the core support to hook the tube to.
Do you have a stock air cleaner?

Re: has anyone seen or made

i do not have a stock aircleaner..
i do have the origional intake baffel on the core support =-) (x2)
i knew i have seen it somewhere before but i did not want a factory origiona.
and i also am just tired of having to replace my filter everytime i go mudding.. i have a foam cover for it.. but it neuters my airflow and does NOT stop water
and a fording kit will be ugly.. and a cowl hood will not stop the mud....
hey yall know if you think im being an idiot.. let me know.. =-)
im just kicking around ideas while i have her apart..

I don't think ram air will help any with the mud, but I guess it dependes on
how much of it hits or splashes the grill.

Re: has anyone seen or made

One of the cleanest and most stock appearing I have seen used the TBI breather off a 90's truck. The owner turned the breather so that the metal snorkel and tube that usually runs to the passenger fender ran to the driver-front hole, and then added another snorkel and tube with rivets to run to the passenger-side hole. It used all factory parts, looked semi-original and cost less than $20 for salvage parts.

Yo! Saw that crazy intake thread too! LOL!
I wanted to thank jwa76fleetside for the link!
It's bookmarked.
This is a project I'd planned for FRANKENTRUCK from the start. My Camaro has cowl induction for cool air "ram", and the trucks' radiator support has stampings that appear to be able to accomodate "ram" from either side, and in front of, the radiator.
Hope mine comes out as well as the pics posted here!
Todd.
