freebie... well, almost.

I sold a 03 gmc on monday that I had built. The customer had visited my shop many times and had even seen my 70 pick-up. After he got his new[to him] truck he said, now my wife wants me to clean up around the yard. He said I have an old truck in the back yard, if you will put a windsheild in my old 89, and paint that hard bed cover you got on that truck that you are parting out over there, you can have that old truck.I ask ,does it run? he says I would not be afraid to drive it to cali right now. I said ok I 'll take it. I go to look, its a 68 GMC2500 factory 396[gone now in favovor of a center bolt 350] turbo 400, BUDDY BUCKETS, power steering ,power brakes, ac. the truck is rael solid with only outer rockers needed [from first glance]. I should get it to the shop tomorrow to start the clean up . Jim

Re: freebie... well, almost.

The guy brought his truck out to the shop this morning to get his windshield put in, and asked if he could keep the tommy lift tail gate. I said sure. He then told me I could have the gate that came on the truck. It was taken off of the truck when it was new. So I have a new [as possible ]take off GMC tailgate to help start that project. Jim
