Will a divorced 205 out of a ford bolt into a chevy mount or are the cases differen't, Larry

some 205's have the torque bracket on the passenger side and some don't.. the other main support is actually from the large spacer connecting the tranny to the TC.. I think you're gonna have to get creative with a divorced unit though..

A Ford 205 is driver's drop while a GM is passenger drop. I am not sure what you are meaning by bolting into the mount, but they are totally different cases as far as mounting goes.

I believe the number of splines on the input or output shaft is different in different applications.

on married cases yes, divorced 205's should have 32 spline input and outputs.

Thanks for the input I just thought I'd change out the old case in my 62 for the 205 if the mounts were the same and I could find one, it looks like I can rebuild the old one for about the same cash so I may go that way, there isn't really anything wrong with it but a good refresh is never bad, Larry

I bought a divorced 205 from a 3/4 ton Dodge to replace my Rockwell with. It has the passenger side drop and looks like it should work well. I'm not going to start the project for a while due to lack of time, but it looks like all it will need is maybe some custom mounts. My Rockwell still works pretty well, other than the normal noises and leaks.

the cases are backwards to one another. all the parts from a l/side drop will fit into a r/side drop case though. IHC and dodge both used independent r/side drop. dodge has oddball ujoint flanges(yokes) and should be changed over
