Need tires&wheels in DC/MD/VA area... - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I'm looking to borrow a set of generic street size tires on 6 lug wheels to get my Jimmy inspected in the great truck-hating jurisdiction of DC. Inspector says my regular set stick out beyond bumper width, so will not give me an inspection sticker. Not buying new tires just to pass this inspection. If you know any Chevy/GMC 4wd guys in the greater DC area, please let me know. I just need the tires/wheels for a couple of hours. other ideas? thanks

Go to a junkyard and get a set of generic GM wheels & tires. they're usually no more than $15-25 ea. and it'll give you spares just incase of flats in the future.

thanks for the suggestion. I planned on doing that, but then found someone on craigslist willing to donate tires&wheels to my cause. not really donate I guess- he demanded a six pack. nice trade
