has anyone heard of the vacuum line leaking right where it goes into the power booster? Is that fixable? It is really annoying. Thanks for the help.

Leaking at the check valve? There's a rubber gromment and Check valve that can be replaced yes.

I also had vacuum leaks when I first got my truck. Idle
was very rough. Replaced the vac line to the booster and
changed to a holley manifold that matched the 600 cfm holley carb
and the idle smoothed out significantly. So I'm assuming that the new vac line to the booster and the new intake manifold gaskets were
what did the trick.

I just put a new engine in, so it shouldn't be the manifold. Thanks for the idea. I can also hear it coming from right at the let for the booster. The thing I am talking about is the piece the hose hose presses on and the part that swivells in the booster. I can take a picture later. I don't know what it is called. Is that the check valve? Thanks

It's called a "CHECK VALVE" and it is available from NAPA stores. It isn't expensive. Get one. Easy installation, low maintenance. Never needs watering. It may or may not come with the grommet, but I believe it will have a new one. Install the grommet, THEN attach the check valve to the hose, and press the checkvalve end of the hose INTO the grommet. Presto, chango! You're done!

add a little spit to the rubber grommet if the check valve don't wanna go in very easily. Just don't let the little lady see you ...it'll look like your getting intimate with it, and our wives are already jelouse of our trucks as it is. :d
