I have a set of 71 stands, and 72 stands. $160 on the 72s, and $100 on the 71s shipped.

Re: WTB - 72 BBC Motor Mounts

what is the difference between the 71 and 72's. I have a set that came with a 72, but I am not sure if it was an original BBC truck.

Re: WTB - 72 BBC Motor Mounts

either one will work fine as both were made for BBC... iirc the 68-71 bill bolt right up, the 72 only will require drilling a hole on the xmember as it has 4 mounting points vs. 3 . someone will correct me if im wrong.

Re: WTB - 72 BBC Motor Mounts

I also think one sets rubber mounts are more expensive than the others. Might wanna look into that too.

Re: WTB - 72 BBC Motor Mounts

It's a trade-off.....The 68-71 rubber mounts are expensive, but the towers are less. The 72 rubber mounts are cheap, but the towers are more.

Re: WTB - 72 BBC Motor Mounts

You shouldn't have to drill any holes for the 72s either. You already have 2 holes drilled in your crossmember. 1 for the small block frame bracket and the other for the 6 cylinder one. The 72 Big Block frame brackets utilise both of those holes. WES

Re: WTB - 72 BBC Motor Mounts

Dan after all the dust clears if you still need correct 72 engine stands we have a nice set with new mounts and all the mounting bolts for $200 plus shipping which should be less than $20.
Let us know...Paul and Jason

Re: WTB - 72 BBC Motor Mounts

73-87 chevy truck mounts will work on 67-72 with drilling the one hole and are easier and less expensive to get have done this a few times with no problems also do not have to be for a big block ,small block towers will work too
