Been Messin`With A Stripper

I started messing with a stripper today. At first I just thought I`d check it out.One thing led to another and before I knew it,it was just me and that stripper up on the top of my little truck. It all started with a little stroking. It didn`t take long before I was really pouring it on and stroking that stripper all over the top of that truck.I gotta admit,it`s been a while and I guess I forgot it can get a bit messy. But,it was nothing I couldn`t handle with my hose.
I didn`t get any pictures until I was through with that stripper...sorry.Here`s a picture of the truck before all this happened:

I`ll get some after shots if you want.

Re: Been Messin`With A Stripper

Here ya go:

I need to run out and get more stripper now. Then start sanding with 80,coat with rust inhibitor, and shoot some red oxide on.The original white paint had gotten thin and surface rust started to form.I wish I had the money for soda-blasting.So far it hasn`t cost me a dime since I had the stripper and supplies already.I`m going to be going into the M22 so I can get it and the 327 installed.I`m just storing a 350/TH350 in it`s place for now.I`m anxious to fire that thing up and get the front sheet metal over it.With any luck,I`ll get a driveshaft and exhaust made this summer.I still need to put a ring & pinion in,too.

Little by little. This isn`t called "Project Poorboy" for nothing.

If you havent paid for stripper in a while you will be surprised at the cost. It has gone way up in price. But then again so have strippers.

Yeah, I was going to ask that. What is the rate for a high performance stripper these days?

Re: Been Messin`With A Stripper

just don't get one that is too agressive, but, then again, you want one that takes it all off the first time.
The agressive ones may work too fast and you don't get enough time to react, and it could cause damage.
And you need to read the fine print. I prefer the strippers that stop when you hit them with a hose.
And always.... ALWAYS, wear the correct rubber protective equipment.

Re: Been Messin`With A Stripper

Aw man,I forgot to wear protection and I got a burning sensation. Now I know what guys meant when they said,"Don`t get any on ya."
The stripper I got today really blew my mind.It took a whole lot of dollar bills to take this one home...26+.I had no choice but to grab a stripper locally. The choice stuff is in the big city.Ace set me up with a stripper named Jasco. We`re talkin`professional grade here.I don`t cheap out when it comes to strippers.Jasco was clad in gold.If you go to Ace and check out the strippers you`ll know Jasco by the gold.
I better say no more. This is a decent site, afte rall.

Re: Been Messin`With A Stripper

Yea I used a stripper once. I was short on funds, and all on my own. So I thought what the heck, and thought what would it hurt? I ended up getting burned a bit, mainly because I got excited and threw caution to the wind and didn't wear proper protection. Sure the things came un done, and there was a lot of hosing down afterwards. But I walked away a little burned, and the landlord wasn't happy about the mess.

My mistake was I didn't follow up with my stripper experience quick enough, and I had to deal with the strippers wrath of corrosive behaviors. Long story but things worked out.

Good luck with your stripper, since mine left something like glitter on me which caused issues at home.

Re: Been Messin`With A Stripper

Best stripper I ever saw was "Aircraft Remover". We used it in the body shop and it beat the pants offa Jasco. A bit more expensive though. As I recall it only came in gallon cans.

lmao. I need to find these strippers ya'll are talking about. The last stripper I used was a cheap one and I only got it half way off ( I think I better insert the words the paint here) and I did not use the hose quick enough and it dried to a real mess.

Yeah you definately don't want to bring said stripper into the house, unless you live by yourself and can stand the smell of the stripper. LOL

This has got to be the funniest thread I've read in a while. Thanks, Tim for starting it.

This is great advice, if you do use a stripper in the house, your girl will know. They can sniff it out like a bloodhound. And when they confront you it is best to admit it and suffer the consequences (my girl won't let me near her after I use strippers)...Lie and all h#!! will break loose.

Re: Been Messin`With A Stripper

I don't know about you guys. I mean, strippers are just too complicated. And some are too dangerous. Good ones are hard to find. And many are too expensive. I'd rather just let my hand do all the work.

Re: Been Messin`With A Stripper

A thick residue is left sometimes,,,,takes alot of washing or the car wash pressure hose to remove it.

What ever you do make sure it doesn't get into the house the wife always gets mad about the residue and smell.

Re: Been Messin`With A Stripper

I went three times around with this stripper.About 15 minutes each time.Actually,I went a couple more times to get into every crack. It seems to take more effort to get it off vertically.Takes alot less when the stripper can just lay there.I know there are better strippers on the internet and out of town.Jasco was the best I could do in a pinch on Sunday. We`re definately talking professional grade.Let`s just say the job got done and it was not far from as good as it gets.My needs were very well taken care of and I`m satisfied now.Look at it this way, when`s the last time you spent $26 and walked away a happy man?
