Junk yard Picture Thread

Let's make an internet junkyard here guys... post up your pictures!

This is a yard a couple hours north of me I went to this saturday. The guy who owns it is named Bob Adler, for you guys in the northeast it's in Stephentown NY. 1/2 Hour east of Albany NY, right near the MA border. His number is (518) 733-5749.

Re: Junkyard Picture Thread

Those pictures are not a sad sight to me. Here all the junk yards crush the vehicles within three weeks. I have problems trying to find parts all the time. Just wish the one in NY was closer I would be broke all the time.

Wow if I came across a yard like that I'm pretty sure I'd never come out. I have yet to see anything of interest in junkyards here in FL

Not sure where you’re at in Florida, but there’s a junk yard near Orlando that is all pre-1980 cars and trucks, they have a few 60-66 trucks from the one pic I saw. I will try and find it then post it here. I just wish I could find a non-crushed/rusted out hood somewhere in south Florida ha-ha.. all those hoods in those pics make me jealous...

EDIT- just relized that post was about three years old haha

These pictures are from the local Pull-a-Part yard on the west bank of the Missisippi River by New Orleans. Cleanest Yards I've ever seen.

After the pictures loads, click next to see the rest.

If any gets ahold of the ny yard ask how much he wants for one of the c-60 grills. I've tried several times and keep getting a busy signal. thanks

Re: Junkyard Picture Thread

Wow, there are a lot of good 62-66 hoods in those yards.
Where are the yards like those in North Texas? I havn't seen one like that around here in at least 15 years. Anyone know? It seems like all the classic junk yards around here got replaced with subdivisions and new car lots.

Keep the pics coming, I love good yard art.

Re: Junkyard Picture Thread

Bob Adler is a pretty well known Chevy truck repairer/restorer. He also writes a column for Vintage Truck magazine. He has tons of knowlege about these old trucks.

Re: Junkyard Picture Thread

There's a yard just north of Dallas right off I-35 service road. You cross over a bridge when heading south and he's on the west side you can't miss the yard. Picked up a few things there!

Re: Junkyard Picture Thread

Yea I'm in Southwest Oklahoma because of the military and there are no really good junk yards around here either it seems like all of the really old stuff is getting crushed to make room for newer crapier cars....
