whos running vintage air in their truck, i want ac and to shave my fire wall what are you guys runing and what does it cast?

Just shaved my firewall. Board member Infanti has patch panels that fit great. Haven't installed A/C yet but Vintage Air is around $1200. They have a setup for shaved firewalls.

i installed the "universal" fit unit from VA. i am running my lines from the pass side & then along the inside of the pass fender to hide them. i also have a serp. belt setup & a "r4" compressor (?). the price listed above is about right. it is cheaper i think if you get the "factory-fit" setup from them. i was wanting more of a custom setup. i have had it a full year installed & it works great, especially for here in the desert!! lol!!!. i would recommend vintage air stuff.....

I went with the GenII unit as I wanted to do more of the custom look as well. I've only got the unit mocked up so I can't give any input on performance but I suspect it will work just fine. I'm running the lines through the passenger fresh air vent, then up behind the passenger fender.
Main reason I went with the Gen II unit is that it uses the electronic servos including the heater bypass valve. I'm using their 4 knob controller. I must say it a nice piece and definitely cool looking at night. I paid I think $900 for the condensor, evaporator, bulk head (not using now), and controller. I already have a Sanden compressor. |

I've used them several times and love them. As a matter of fact I will be installing one in a truck over the next few days. I really feel the quality is better to the others out there, although I will admit I have only compared visualy to the other systems, and not installed or tested other systems. Low will keep you plenty cool.
