WTB one piece window kit

Power or non power. Got the brother's kit but now looking for the OPP kit without the triangle. I really want to go as smooth as possible and the triangle is killing the look to me right now... Figure someone may have a kit and have changed their mind and want to help me out on my build

Re: WTB one piece window kit

Not sure about the brothers, but the one piece products kit leaves way too much to be desired to hack up a good door shell to try to make work. Even with the most extensive surgery, the glass still hits in places. My conclusion was the latch would have to be changed/modified for additional clearance. This is my experience, others may not have any issues. However in all my searches so far, I have found no one who didn't have some issue. My goal was to get the window to operate center in the opening with very smooth resistance free movement. With quite a few hours per door, have not reached that goal. The one piece windows do look good but I'm not going to use them. Oh, and the glue on scrubbers over new paint is a huge NO for me.

I definitely appreciate and value your input. If you're having issues, I wouldn't have a chance From what I have heard, Brothers has gotten theirs figured out over time. I guess OPP needs some more time/first hand experience with theirs. I'm guessing there will be some cheap OPP kits out there though

Re: WTB one piece window kit

just installed opp in my truck and these things are awesome!! look WAY cleaner than brothers imo.. and they seem to work fine to me?!?! (ok my secret is out.. my dad installed for me and it took him 15 hrs on the first window, and a bit faster on the second.. so deff not an easy job, but looks nice)

Re: WTB one piece window kit

As ebfabman said we used these on project cod fish and there were many issues including us having to cut a hole in the door for clearance issues and welding in a patch. I am revisting the whole scrubber install and will come up with something else for these windows. The door stop also had to be cut and moved down to get the windows to roll down all the way. I have call opp and got little to no help from them including letting them know that parts were missing in the kit and nothing..... My kit had the wrong directions to start with. I also can not believe that the scrubbers had to be clearanced in order to fit..... this leaves very little to glue to when installing them and will cause problems later on. I guess they will work fine if u plan on leaving them up as they look great. I just think for the money spent for a "kit" it should be better and dont even get me started on the customer service..... The really sad part is that is they had just worked with us on this kit we could have help them get there kit perfected and sold a ton of them.... Eb was talking about putting his own kit together for sale if he does it will be a jamb up kit. All i will say in close is that if you want a semi functional kit that looks good go with opp if you want a kit that works and looks good make your own. because from what i have heard about bout kits is it dont exist..... the other concern I have is that if customer service was bad from start then 2years from now it will really be a gaint hoover

Re: WTB one piece window kit

dang!! lol you guys got burnt on yours i guess?!? i just went outside to double check how mine worked (rolled up/down quite a few times..) it looks and feels factory to me.. 15 hours on the first window can be prob cut down quite a bit (my dad isn't "fast" at anything.. but he will deff make sure it works right.. who's counting anyways.. these trucks take time. no matter what mod you are doing).. i know opp did a second version of the window kit (could have made all the difference?!) but im not sure, bc i bought this kit of a board memeber who bought it in the group buy.. i dunno

It can be, it's just finding the correct powered regulator to use. If I can find a kit with a known quantity that is made to work, I'd prefer that. From what I understand, even though our glass is flat, you can't use the flat window power window kits...
