Picked one up today

72 Custom Deluxe C10 350/350 p/s pb a/c defroster on back window( Is it factory or dealer option? ). It needs cab corners, driver fender, ft and back bumpers and a few brackets but otherwise straight and rust fee. Oh I forgot some jacked the dash all up. It will not stay running at the moment but nothing has been touched in 10 years.

Re: Picked one up today

More pics. The tailgate is in pretty awsome shape. Hopefully I can ge the tailgae pic to post. The last pic is a pic of the defroster thingy. It also has a highlander seat cover but says nothing about it on the spid like it does my other 72.

Sweet Baby Jesus! That there is a mighty fine starting point for a resto-rod-ification project! Welcome to the addiction! Show us some pics of the interior....I might have some things you can use to un-FUBAR the dash!

Re: Picked one up today

That dash is really tweaked, looks like PO went into a drug induced rage and took it out on that dash. I have a good used center section ready to weld in if you need it.

Re: Picked one up today

Looking how the front end was hit hard, maybe someone was sitting in the middle without a seat belt and they ran into the dash when the truck stopped and they didn't...

Re: Picked one up today

Nice !!!!!!!!! It is a shame what some people will do to put a pos radio in a vehicle, When I worked at a Chevrolet dealership in CT back in the day we used to install rear window defrost in pickups all the time. Are the wires in the glass or on the outside of the glass inside the cab ? Where is the switch located ? I would love to have it anyway.

Re: Picked one up today

I was going to ask about that rear window defroster. Never seen that on these trucks before.

BTW, looks like your camera date is way off.

Re: Picked one up today

I see that it has the Buickification mod done with the wheels. Looks like a good starting point. Welcome to the fold.

Re: Picked one up today

Well I found a little more rot last night when I got all the leaves out of the bed. There is some rot where water and leaves stood for a long period but nothing major. I am going to do something about the carb, new fuel pump,
fuel line, fuel filter, plugs, wires, HEI,change the oil and clean out the tank then see what happens. If that works then probably new exhaust will be in order. A set rally wheels and tires wouldn't hurt at all either. The good thing is this one only cost $600. Anyone have a highlander that does not shop the option on the spid?

Re: Picked one up today

Nice score....now I see why you are looking for a carb......Mine is a highlander also but does not have the special promo on the spid but it does have the "Custom Trim Combin"...which I am starting to believe it the same thing.

You are dead on about the carb. Here is the vin from my other 72 which states it is Highlander.

***I just noticed both have the same option number of 161310.
