Re: drive shaft interchange?
I would pull the driveshaft and take it to a shop.
They will retube and balance it for around $100, turn around is usually 24hrs. I payed $120 and got new ujoints. |

Re: drive shaft interchange?
the prices fluctuate quite a bit from area to area, but I would recomend the same thing though.

Re: drive shaft interchange?
I agree, it needs to be straightened and balanced or tube replaced. Another used one could be bent, too, and/or unbalanced. Cheaper in the long run to have a shop check it out.

Re: drive shaft interchange?
Well i was in a hurry earlier today when i first posted, there is a little bit more going on underneath my truck. the shaft isnt riding through the center of the crossmember, more off to the pass side, and the output shaft of the trans seems to be a little sloppy. is the shaft supposed to be dead center in the crossmember? how much out of straight does the shaft have to be to cause a issue? i realize straight is straight but is there some tolerance? thanks again.
