I make the shop wheels if any one want's to know. I'm about to start a production run, just wanted to see if anyone has a interest in them. Not for sell yet.

Ok here's what the Finished wheel will look like, got it down to 10 lb. The wheels are 24" and can be drilled to any lug pattern or multi lug patterns.

have you load tested them to failure? I would hate to have one of the lightened ones fail and cause damage to a vehicle, that would be a liability issue for you

They weigh 20lb right now, I'm going to lighten them to around 10lb.

The problem is that these may damage an epoxy coated garage floor. I think that is why others make them in plastic. However, for the rest of us who cannot afford epoxy floors, these are perfect.

I would make those holes smaller to prevent failure. What if someone installs these on a fully loaded one ton with a big block and it crushes them while the guy is under it? Make sure these are idiot proof.

You are correct, however, this thing looks dangerous to me and I would hate to see someone get hurt and OP become liable for it. Also, this style of "shop wheel" and the caster style are all already being produced by others and have been out there for some time now. You would need a ton of general liability insurance or product liability insurance before even attempting to market and sell this thing. One product liability, wrongful death or personal injury lawsuit and it could wipe you out.

Have you thought about making them in diameters that are more common for wheel/tire combos? like 27" or 29" or 31"? That way one would be able to set their vehicle up with the same diameter of tire combo they will be running, and have a better idea of stance and ground clearances.

good idea, much cheaper/easier than finding someone with the exact same wheel/tire size combo your looking for to mock up your suspension or something. is the truck supposed to roll around on these or does it just hold it up like jackstands? im curious, ive never seen these before.

No disrespect intended, but how do you know they are safe? I would assume that extensive load testing and field testing would be needed to verify. Not trying to rain on your parade and the product is beautiful, just want to make sure that you have smooth sailing with this new venture. Good luck.

I`m curious,what`s the point of "shop wheels"?Are they for people who can`t come up with old wheels and tires?it costs money to dispose of old tires and wheels must be stripped of tires to scrap them around here.And,some day I could always sell the wheels as they get harder to find.I`ll be dollying my frame to the exhaust guy and maybe another shop or two.
How about making plates that bolt to the hubs with casters on the bottom?Then you`d kill two birds with one stone.And,the problem with damaging a pretty floor is taken care of,too.

Castors sound like a much better idea to me, that way you can easily shove it sideways out of the way without having to lift it. I'd have thought an aluminium "wheel" like that will either wear the floor out or itself wear out pretty quickly if you have plain abrasive concrete, also I'd have thought with those bloody great big holes in them any sideways stress and they'd fracture. You can get wheel dollies/skates that sit under the tyres and enable you to shove the car sideways s I don't really see the point of the auminium ones above.

They could always be left solid for anyone concerned about safety.They could be made with some type of rubber fitted over them,like a bicycle tire.

No. I've got wheels and tires already. When I paint, I just cover them up. On past projects, I always just used old roller tires/rims and then sold them when I was done with them. However, a professional shop that restores lots of these old vehicles might want to have these on hand as rollers since they take up much less space than tires/rims.
