speedometer
I have a 71 Blazer. The speedometer is not working. I removed the cable and turned it and the needle on the speedometer moves. The cable is attached to what seems to be an offset gear box which seems to be ok, then that attaches to the transmission. I pulled the drive gear from the transmission and it looks good ( almost dropped in the transmission case). Any body got any ideas?

Re: speedometer
If you spin the bottom side of the cable & the speedo needle moves. Next I would do away with your little offset do-dad, and run just your cable. If speedo works that way, you know what it is. I don't even know what they are on their for. I took mine off over 30 years ago trying to match gears to tires.
