In the market for a burb

I recently sold my bike and need to sell one more vehicle and I'll be in the market for a burb. I'm debating on either a 61 or one from 67-72 because I love the looks and styles of each of them.
Can someone steer me to where there would be one of the burbs for sale at? I'm looking for one for a daily driver.

after owning two trucks from kansas, I would say look out west, or south. Transporting one is DIRT cheap compaired to rut repair.
while the 60-66 burbs do have a real cool vintage vibe, the 67-72 burbs are easier to get parts for.

My dad has two 60-61 suburbans. They are total projects, not sure if that is what you are looking for, or if he is even wanting to sell them. He does have a 66 suburban that is almost done fixing up that I know he is wanting to sell so he can start on another project. He also has a running and driving factory big block 1/2 ton 72 burb that he might be willing to sell. Other people on here might have suburbans those styles for sale as well.

Sorry Liz, for my part of getting this thread locked initially. I didn't notice he wasn't a subscribed member when I responded. I also should have suggested putting a WTB thread up and then telling him about my dad's trucks. Glad he subscribed though. Trust me it is worth every penny!

Check out the big show's and swap meets.
I'm not sure about your area's offerings, but if you come out west for the Pomona and San Diego swap meets that will garantee a deal on what ever year burb you are lookin for. I was just out at the Pomona meet, and there were a lot of burbs for sale of many different years.

It's a stretch to make such a trip like that i'm sure, but if you have the money and are motivated to get a burb...

I found a 71 fixer her upper that may work for us. One of the problems is it doesn't have the 3rd bench seat. Does anyone know where those may be found at?

In the 67-72 style suburbans the middle and rear seat are suppose to be pretty much the same as the blazer rear seats. Not sure if all the brackets are the same but the seats themselves are the same.

2cnd row seats have different rear mounting brackets from 67-70/ 71-72, found out the hard way.

The 71 you are looking at... is the second seat a full width seat, or is it a 2/3 width seat?
In order to access the 3rd seat, you need a 2/3 width seat in the middle so you can walk through. The 2 seat burbs do not have the provisions for the 2/3 width seat, nor the 3rd seat. It can be modified, but, it is a total pain in the rear.
As for the 555-555-5555 comment that you asked about, his 2 posts were modified to conform to the rules of the forum.
What is your price range, and what all are you looking for?

Thanks! The 71, I believe, has the full width 2nd seat. Why did some burbs come with 2 seats and others with 3??
I have around $3500 so far saved up. I'm looking for either a 67 or 72, but would still consider one that is 68-71.

The smaller second row seat was used so that passengers had access to the third row of seating

the rear seating was optional, and if you wanted the added seating space over cargo space, then you opted for the 3rd row seating.

i prefer the wide 2nd row bench and adding a burb/blazer back seat to it for the third row. my dad did that with his 72 and i'm doin' it with mine. the narrow seat in the 2nd row, positioned off center, makes me think of a lousy mini van. seats were physically about the same up through the 80's as the 67-72, so you could use the flip down / removable seats from an 80's burb and adapt the vintage upholstery to it.

Thanks Shawn, that is very nice of you. I am, however, checking out a 72 burb with 3 seats. I hope this one works out and I can get started working on one.
