4800 mile roadtrip

Well i had been planning this for some time but finally got the time off work to do it. I left home at 2 am sat here in northern minnesota headed for omaha where T Korinek had dropped off some southwestern treasures for me previously. Well i could'nt get out of his buddies place without droppin 200 bucks for parts i could'nt live without and kept on travelin to my dads in kansas. It was also where i left my trailer from before so no avoiding it.
Well my old man decided he wanted to go but we could'nt leave till sunday evening cause he had made other commitments for the day. After driving nonstop all night we got to phoenix monday at noon. What beautiful weather but no trees to speak of. Met up with T Korinkek, what a guy. He has a nice big block he putting together and he got me lined up with a cab for myself and one for another member ( piston ). So we then left for lk havasu but our next connection did'nt want to load in the dark so we crashed till first light loaded up another cab and a box. Then i gave a call to Hotrodhenryj and we headed north to Kingman to his playground, where we loaded another cab. By now (see pic) it looks as if i am runnin out of room but were not done yet. We still have to get to boulder city to pick up a box for humbulay (indiana) to ship east. It took a while to get there but we had to cross hoover dam and managed to slip through the state troopers spotchecks (no bombs around a national monument) twice without anyone asking for titles and such. Managed to find the place and dismantle the box as i over estimated how much stuff will fit on a 20 foot traier (4 cabs is maximum density). Just finished loading as the sun said goodbye and got some dinner. Then we had a lead on a 56 big window pickup in town for sale but after locating it we were 12 hours late to the punch as someone put money down on it. My dad is building one but his is a little soft in spots. So off we go nonstop all the way back to kansas but the damn ecm started acting up and we ran way too rich with black smoke pouring out most of the way home. We also hit snow in flagstaff (6000 ft) and were happy we did'nt decide to go back through denver as it would have been way worse. I did hit a cat scale and came in just under 15,000 lbs but wish i could have brought back more. Great to meet some more guys from the board and get a little further in the truck build dept.
Take my advice, There is no substitute for southwest sheetmetal!

pit stops

Yes i failed to mention i stopped by teeitup's, pistons, and blazermans. It seems to be a habit to stop and see randy on my way through. He always has stuff. I am still peein myself over the factory brush guard he traded me. Buggieo (from wisconsin) should be at my place this weekend to pick up one of the cabs on the trailer.

Had a good visit with bruce on christmas eve and got to see all his new toys, it was pretty cool to see all those rust free cabs, something you just dont see around here.

Glad you had an eventful and prosperous sheetmetal trip.I have a question for ya though.
What did the cab weigh? The reason I'm asking is I'm looking to pick myself one up.
