Re: Longhorn looks like a rip off

People who don`t know their vehicles see prices of much better vehicles and feel theirs is worth that, not knowing what makes their`s work far less. They don`t realize that a well survived vehicle from a region much kinder to sheet metal is incomparable to what they have. That`s one reason those auto quote websites and Kelly Blue Book don`t work on older vehicles*.That could be where this guy got his price from.

*That, and they don`t know older vehicles any better than the ones seeking price quotes.

That may be the case some of the time, but I recently posted and asked for opinions about what my 72 Suburban might be worth. I feel I know a good deal about older cars and trucks, but still wanted to get honest opinions from people who know more then I do. Yes I can admit I don't know everything about these old trucks, and humbling myself to ask for help is not a bad thing.

What is the problem with asking for what a vehicle might be worth? I am looking to sell and getting some feedback on value seems to me like a good idea. I don't want to over or under price my Suburban. Just looking to give a fair deal.

Re: Longhorn looks like a rip off

Its only a ripoff if you BUY IT.

Every man has the option to ask what he wants.

When it doesnt sell he will figure it out.

Hmmm, that was my thought. You don't like someone's price don't buy it. I could never understand why someone would say something is a "rip off" when no sale was made. Like fine69 says, If it doesn't sell the seller will figure out his price was too high. JMO WES

Re: Longhorn looks like a rip off

I am with you threeonthetree. Living in WI solid old cars and trucks are hard to find up here. That is why people have a tendency to think even a rusted out old car/truck is worth more. Glad mine was from North Carolina originally.

Re: Longhorn looks like a rip off

I go to the Iola old car show every year up your way, and it's amazing to see some of the rotten stuff up there. We stay in Fremont every year, so we have a little drive to get to the show, and you see tons of stuff for sale on the side of the road, most of the stuff I see is generally pretty rotten. I thought we had it bad here in central Illinois
