Hood Insulation - do i really need it?
My '72 has no insulation under the hood. how much difference will it really make in the way of noise reduction?

My '69 doesn't have any, either. All they had was some foam strips that fit between the hood and the bracing to keep the hood from rattling. I don't think any of them (67-72) had insulation, until they changed the body in '73.

Does someone make a hood insulation set custom fit for our hoods??
I think it serves a very good purpose for noise, and also really looks clean with the contrast on paint!!!!

Using a deep-notched trowel and carpet ahesive; I installed 1/2 thick high density carpet felt padding....you can check with a carpet-installer store for used material....Cost me $10.00 for the padding.... and..... does make a difference in noise level.......Jim
