Is there any advantage to putting a 9 inch rear axle in a c/10 with coil springs?, or is that a dumb idea. I have different people say that they are good, and others said not to do it.

depends on what your intent is. if the truck is for street/strip you could have track gears and street gears because you just have to change the center section to change gears.
