Name That Part/Item....Round 2
ok guys, i have been meaning to do this and finally got around to it,
does anyone know what these "F" looking thing on my cab are?? you can see where it was on the pass. side too...is it something the PO put on?? and i assume that the third pic is a factory bracket of sorts since its riveted, it it for the spare tire mount??? any help would be appreciated Thanks

I believe the 3rd one is an exhaust hanger. I've never seen shims like #1 before.

ok an exhaust hanger would make sense..
shim for what, what bolted there??

CPNE is right. They are shims that go between the cab and the inner fenders. I just found the same ones when I pulled the inner fenders off my 1969.

Are the shims different sizes? Or are they one size fits all?

Our 68 had one of those "F" shims installed on one side only between the inner fender and cab as mentioned above. Did not reuse it because it is so ugly, just used some large diameter fender washers for shims. I guess the factory assy guys could get it shimmed faster with the handle on the shim given the location that it goes in.
The last one is a tailpipe hanger bracket, factory riveted to the frame. I just remove those since custom exhaust usually won't fit where the factory exhaust was. There should be one more exhaust hanger towards the front on the inside of the frame on the drivers side also, I think it uses 2 rivets
