WIW 72 short 4x4
I bought a new truck and decided to sell a couple of my classics to help pay for it. I have a 72 short 4x4, currently just needs paint (outside) and assemble bed. Has a 68 front clip, also has AC, tilt, tach, buddy seats, headliner/ cheyenne super cab, 350/350 rebuilt, frame has been sandblasted and painted. This pickup was comletely dissassembled, and every body part has been sandbasted, to include inner fenders, bed, cab, under cab. I should have it completely painted and assembled within the next month or so. I would like an idea on what you think it might be worth, thanks

I don't know what it's worth, but it's a pretty sweet lookin truck. I wouldn't sell it unless you have too.

Re: WIW 72 short 4x4
I will take a stab and say $12,000-$19,000. Big leap between the two but most I see usually fall somewhere in here realistically. I only say that because a purist would downgrade because of some of the things wrong for a 72', which keeps it from reaching maximum potential,(72 w/ 67 clip), herculined floor instead of smooth as glass paint, Color (although, I kinda like it, but people pay bigger $$ for 3 main colors on things, atleast muscle cars: blk, blue, & red), cab has clearance lights although it's a half ton which I don't think is correct. I think it could do better in resale if it was done up to be a Cheyenne Super as you say it has that cab already. They tend to bring more money especially a swb 4x4. It will do it's best for someone looking for an original swb 4x4 that matches the vin plate and frame. It will also do very well with the guys that prefer the 67' clip and buddy buckets. It is and will be a very nice truck and I might be way out of line on pricing, it should do very well though. I applaud you on doing something out of the norm and would love to have that cab w/ the clearance lights being that it was a Cheyenne Super.

Re: WIW 72 short 4x4
The clearance lights are available on the 1/2 ton models. I have 2 of them.
It looks like you are so far along i would think you would get more for it done. It looks like it will be a sweet truck when finished. No idea on price for you...

Re: WIW 72 short 4x4
Yea, I will finish it! Like I said, all I lack is assemble bed and paint. I do realize there are some parts that are not 72, but I was building this for me. The cab was on a C30

Re: WIW 72 short 4x4
Eric, I never seen an original 1/2 cab with the hockey puck clearance lights. You might have to show me a pic of one so I will know from now on. Otsenre, I hope you didn't take that as a slap in the face, I am just going by what you see on ebay for some of the higher quality trucks. You will have a nice truck, and it is important to have something to your specs. Heck, I am thinking of painting my truck completely black w/trim with my bright blue interior. Just because I saw a 66-67 vette with the combo and fell in love. What color of Metallic gold/copper is that? It looks very bright!
