Craigslist carver - Whatta think?

http://portland.craigslist.org/clc/ctd/1345744938.html

Scrounging the CL for the deal of the century and I came across this carved up "67", they must not research what they're selling... looks like a 68 to me..? Pretty, but a closer look reveals it's likely a shortened lwb and not really - an original that's a "body off restore" And, the price??? maybe half of the asking... What to you think?

PS - look at their website pics - Gives a much more accurate look and the underbelly! Obviously a shortened frame, heated coils, no track bar upgrade, no disc's......

I agree with you, it is NOT a 67. And I have never seen someone cut the frame straight, usually you at least notch it. Looks good at first though.

Re: Craigslist carver - Whatta think?

My guess would be a 67 since they are probably going by the title. But with aftermarket fenders and bedsides thus the sidemarkers.I don't think he has a clue as to the economy he just wants what he has in it out of it.

That is possible, but I was looking at the instrument panel and the e-brake. A 67 has headlights and wipers on the left and choke on the right. The e-brake is a hand brake under the column, not a foot pedal. Unless there is a weird half year thing, but that is how my 67 is.

Interesting rear lowering blocks; I never thought of cutting up another set of trailing arms like that to make em.

I have done this. It works great. But you need an adjustable panhard bar or your truck goes down the road crooked.

Re: Craigslist carver - Whatta think?

its obviously a mutt.
the cab is a 69 or 70 since it has the foot parking brake but still has a throttle rod.
probably the only ting 67 is the VIN tag and maybe the frame.

Re: Craigslist carver - Whatta think?

My 67 doesnt have the choke knob any more, it also has a pedal for the e brake not a handle. I thought the handle was ugly. It also has a 72 gas pedal with a throttle cable. But it is a 67 tight down to the small rear window
