I have a 79 K10, with two fuel tanks. How can I tell if the one on the driver side, filler neck in the rear fender well, is that stock or is that something Farmer Joe rigged?

Sometimes I regret buying an old farm pick as a daily driver.

My dad's had the same thing his was after market not factory. How do switch over the tanks his had a manual valve on the drivers side floor that you turned to go from one tank to another.

Interesting. The reason I'm asking is because the 2nd tank does not pump fuel, I'm not sure if it's something as simple as a fuel pump or if it's in a switch the PO had put in.

Looking for more information, thankyou though.

The switch may just switch over the gage sender. Have you followed the lines from each tank to see where they meet? Do they meet at a manual or electric valve?

Also I believe that a 79 does not have a pump in the tanks it should only have one on the engine block.
