73-87 RADIATOR - will it fit
Will an 73-87 radiator fit in my 67 - has it been done? any modifications to the support??
i tried a search but i could not find anything. thanks |

The 73-80 ones fit no problem. The 81-87 units are taller and require modifying the upper hold downs. I just welded a small spacer to the 67-72 upper retainer to make it fit the taller radiator.
The lower hose bung won't be angled up like stock, but a 73-87 hose works fine.

I found some pics I took of this mod. I used an 83 radiator in my 72. It was too tall. Everything fits fine, it's just taller. I used 3/4 inch angle iron to modify the stock 72 upper retainers. If you use a 73-80 radiator, no mods required at all.

looks sweet - should be no problems with a 67 - slop of hood should not interfear?
