Buying a panel GMC
Funny thing is I have yet to see the title and don't know what year it is.
Not that it matters I'm buying it anyway. Any guess on the year ? Also what bolt pattern would this have ? Can't wait !

Re: Buying a panel GMC
I don't know too much about panels, other than I would love one. My guess it's 47-50 because of the 1 piece windows and driver side vent door. The bolt pattern is a 6 lug. Looks really solid and all there. If you don't mind, how many bones are you dropping on it? If I'm ever able to have another project I think it'd be a GMC panel. If the price is right I'd jump on it. There's a lot of people looking for them. And GMC panels are kinda rare.

Re: Buying a panel GMC
Well the price is still to be determined. I am dealing with a neighbor of the owner. I feel stupid for not looking at the wheels as far as # of lugs.
I spent all my time looking for(and finding) rust. Is the pattern the same as the 67-72 6 lug ? From what I understand the GMC had pressure oiling ? Hope I can use as is. After some TLC.

Re: Buying a panel GMC
In my name now !
Camera card was full after just a few pictures. Some things I noticed today ... Chevrolet on the valve cover Hmmm ? Wood floor, had no idea 16" wheels, Dang just got rid of 6 lug 16x7 wheels Glad her son was over as well as her care giver. Elderly gal and I did not want anyone to feel uneasy about a business deal. Paid full asking price $1000.00 not sure it was worth it but I like it ! Thats all that matters. Her son said he had it running not long ago but the fuel pump failed. So I will start there as well as cleaning(probablyreplacing) fuel tank.

Re: Buying a panel GMC
Awesome! I know a thing or two about wood floors. I think we can roll out that dent on the roof too. We'll have to remove that window and weld in a patch. What other plans of mine do you want to hear? Do you need help getting home? Let me know.

Re: Buying a panel GMC
My dad had an old panel truck like that back in the 60's. Went just about anywhere in the snow mud and ice with it. It was unstoppable. I don't think the brakes worked very well.

Re: Buying a panel GMC
I think it was well worth the $1000. Great project.
As for the bullethole in the window, flip it to the other side, glue a hangdun to the windshield and I guarantee everyone will get out of your way |

Re: Buying a panel GMC
No newer pictures?
Figured you'd be working on it more, when I found this thread. Odd responses...surpirised no one said, "$1,000.??!!" stressing how you stole it. Front seats are worth (actually sell for...) $600. or so. They are there, orig. wheels, etc. ...wow. |

Re: Buying a panel GMC
$600 for the seats??? About $350 around here in better shape. I got one at a swap last fall for $5 that needs serious rework, but it was $5!
$1000 is about right if you ask me. I'd like an update as well. Is it a 216?235?250? GMC engine? Running yet? |

Re: Buying a panel GMC
Actually I have a few threads on/about my panel. Here is one.
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=362407 If you click on my user name and click statistics then show posts started by NONHOG you'll see a few. As of now its just waiting for time and money. Needs new carb installed (time) Needs fuel tank cleaned, repaired, replaced ? (time and money) Needs brakes (time and money) Hoping I can find the time to get these items taken care of so I can bring the ol bucket of bolts to the 4th of July show about 45 minutes north of me. XXX root beer drive in.
