restore or leave it????
Hey guys!!Picked up a a 46000 original 69 farm truck and was wondering what I should do???The cab corners and mounts have rust and will need replacing if I restore it.The pass fender will also need some rust repair and the tailgate is shot,no rust at all just look at the pics.As far as the interior it just needs a seat cover. The body has the usual farm dents a scratches but nothing real bad.All the rubber is like new and the glass is perfect as is the side trim.I have done the brakes and all the U joints & hanger bearing and axle seals and tires so far. This truck runs and drives new! So drive it or restore it??Clark

Re: restore or leave it????
depends on if you will be happy with it the way it is. Could always fix it up as you drive it so you can do both.

Re: restore or leave it????
I would at least fix the rust. If you don't it will only get worse.

Re: restore or leave it????
Just curious but you want to tell what it cost you and I say drive it! that way more fun than working on it and then worrying about taking care of the paint etc. Wish I owned it I would drive her to menards all the time

Re: restore or leave it????
If it was mine I would replace the tailgate, install a new seat cover, and fix the cab corners and then drive the heck out of it.

Re: restore or leave it????
I made that decision once myself. If I had to do it all over again I would have driven it for a while and enjoyed it.
Your truck looks great, enjoy it! |
