FS: Polished SS Bed Strip - SWB Step Side

I have a set of Polished Stainless Steel bed strips for SWB stepside.

I bought them from Brothers Trucks a while back ($160). As you can see in the photo below, the bolt holes on the strips do not line up with the bolt holes on the angle strips. My truck is a 69. The end holes line up fine.

They were on back order forever, and I finally drove to Brothers and picked them up..only to figure out later that they were not totally correct. They may be for a 47-66 or 73-later. I'm not sure.

If someone wants them, I will let them go for $85 shipped in the lower 48 states. Best i can figure, it will cost around $30 for shipping, so if someone wants to pick them up around Kansas City, they can go for $55.

Thanks,

Dan

Do the bolts come with them? Any scratches, dents, etc?

Jorgensensc,

I took some more pictures today. The picture above was when they were installed almost four years ago. Of course, the truck sat in storage for thee years while I was in Okinawa.

The strips are pretty pristine. The only real blemishes are on the end holes. The bolt kit that came with them was 7 bolts shy of the strip bolts, but had 7 bolts that were slightly lrgaer in diameter. I took my drill and modified the 7 end holes. Of course, the carriage bolt heads cover that, and it can't been seen. but, I wanted to make sure you got a good look and they are what you want. Here are the pictures i took today:

If you want them, my Paypal is dan.brue@us.army.mil

Thanks,

I have a couple of quick questions. Do the bolts come with them? and you say the holes don't line up with the angle strips, but do they bolt down to the bed cross members correctly? Or are they just kinda free floating?

Re: FS: Polished SS Bed Strip - SWB Step Side

I do not have another set of bolts. I'm using the bolts that were in these on my truck.

I placed the end of the strip with the two holes close to each other at the cab end of the bed. The strips bolted to the front bed panel, first cross member, and the crossmember at the tailgate. It was tight. It just did not line up with the crossmember closest to the tailgate. If you have reinforcing strips, you can line them up with the holes for extra strength, if you wanted..

Thanks,

THanks for all the info! Sorry to drag it out. I think I will regretfully have to pass this on to the next guy right now. Thanks though!!
