Frame VIN Help
I have done a search on VIN decoding but am still not sure if I have this right. The frame VIN reads 7S1235222. Does this indicate that the frame is a
'67 frame? The fella I bought this truck from told me it was from a 69. |

Re: Frame VIN Help
As happens so often, Longhorn man once again has ridden to the rescue.
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=160357 That's a page worth putting in our subscribed threads list. After looking at that it would be the production number. That same number would also be stamped on the block and transmission case when that frame was originally built. Last edited by mr48chev; 09-05-2009 at 10:23 AM. |

Re: Frame VIN Help
Yest the frame is a 1967, manufactured in St. Louis.
I think you have one to many of numbers in 1235222, it should be a six digit number. It should all match the last half of your vin number on the title and glove box sticker and serial plate on the door jam.

Re: Frame VIN Help
Thanks, I did put one too many 2's at the end. This explains why the radiator support mounts were not fitting properly. I don't think I would ever get this thing together without the help from the people on this forum.
If I get the 67 radiator support mounts, will the later model radiator support mount to the frame properly? |
